Lorain County's Newman tapped as NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Lorain County's sophomore guard Justin Newman has been named NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Newman scored 67 points in two games last week, including 53 points in a 142-103 win over the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville. He was 28-39 from the floor for the week, including 23-28 in the Pitt-Titusville game. Newman was five of ten from the three point arc and six of eight from the charity stripe. He had ten rebounds, two assists and five steals in 65 minutes of action as the Commodores went 2-0 last week. Lorain County returns to action tonight when the host Anne Arundel Community College.
