New number one team in NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll is Schoolcraft College

The Schoolcraft College men's basketball claimed the top spot in this week's NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll after being number two last week. The Ocelots are 16-0 overall and 7-0 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They went 2-0 last week, beating then number 11 - St. Clair County Community College and Alpena Community College. In their first seven games of the conference season they have defeated three teams ranked in the top 11. Their 16 game winning streak is the longest of any college men's basketball team in the State of Michigan at any level. They will return to the court on Saturday when they have a rematch against number nine Mott Community College. 

Mott Community College remained steady at number nine this week after being idle for the week. They are 16-2 overall and 5-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and will return to action on Thursday when they host Delta College. 

St. Clair County Community College dropped five spots to number 16 after going 0-2 last week. The Skippers are 18-3 overall and 5-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They feel to number two Schoolcraft College and Wayne County Community College District. They are off until Thursday when they will host Henry Ford College. 

Cuyahoga Community College continues their climb up the poll this week, moving up two spots to number 17. The Triceratops are 16-4 overall and 7-0 in the OCCAC after beating Bryant & Stratton College and then number 20 Edison State Community College. They will travel to Springfield, OH on Saturday for their next game where they will face Clark State Community College. 

Edison State Community College dropped out of the top 20 and back into the other schools receiving votes this week. The Chargers are 15-4 overall and 4-3 in the OCCAC this season. They were 1-1 last week beating Owens Community College before falling to then number 19 - Cuyahoga Community College. They are idle until Saturday when they host Columbus State Community College. 

Lakeland Community College remains in the other schools receiving votes category again this week. The Lakers are 15-4 overall and 5-2 in the OCCAC. They were 2-0 last week beating both Lorain County Community College and Sinclair Community College. They will hit the court again on Saturday at Hocking College.
