Terra State Caps Off Inaugural Season With 10th Place Finish at DIII National Championship
CHAUTAUQUA, NY – The Terra State Community College Titans men's golf team culminated a successful inaugural season with a 10th place finish at the 2023 NJCAA DIII Men's Golf National Championship. The four-day, four-round championship tournament was played at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY.
The Titans qualified for the national tournament after winning the NJCAA Region XII Division III Championship on May 16 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, Mich.
Mike Wadsworth paced the Titans with a tournament score of 335, including a sub-80 round of 79 in round two. Region XII Division III medalist, Jacob St. Clair, was next with a 339 tally that featured a Titans' tournament-best round of 75 on day three. Wadsworth and St. Clair finished the tournament in 40th and 45th place, respectively.
Sam Whipple checked in 54th overall with a 347 and a low round of 84, while Josh Myers posted an 86 on the final day of the tournament to earn a 57th place finish with 352 total strokes.
Sandhills Community College took home the 2023 NJCAA Division III National Championship with a team score of 1147.
