Owens volleyball vaults to number one in latest NJCAA Division III volleyball poll

Fresh off a 3-0 sweep of Columbus State Community College last weekend, the Owens Community College volleyball team jumped two spot to number one in the latest NJCAA Division III Volleyball Poll. The Express are 31-6 overall and have won the OCCAC title with a 15-0 record. They went 3-0 last week defeating Cuyahoga Community College, Columbus State and Hocking College. They will close out the regular season on Wednesday night when travel to Kirtland, OH to face Lorain County CC. Owens will host the NJCAA Region XII Division III Volleyball Champions on Saturday. The Express have a bye and will face the winner of Columbus State and Lorain County CC in the championship. Owens has already locked up a District Tournament berth. 

Columbus State Community College fell one spot to number three this week after going 2-1 last week beating University of Rio Grande JV and Lorain County Community College and losing to Owens Community College. They will close out the regular season at Edison Community College on Wednesday night. The Cougars will face Lorain County Community College in the NJCAA Region XII Division III semi-finals on Saturday at the SHAC on the campus of Owens Community College. The winner will face Owens in the championship game and will also advance to the district tournament.
