Mott CC ranked 12th in pre-season NJCAA Division II men's basketball poll
The Mott Community College basketball team is ranked 12th in the NJCAA Division II men's basketball pre-season poll. The Bears ended last season 25-6 overall record and 12-4 Eastern Conference mark. They lost in the NJCAA District 10 semi-final to St. Clair County Community College. They will open the season on November 1 when they host Jackson College.
Schoolcraft College is ranked 13th in the pre-season poll. The Ocelots finish last season 6-20 overall and 5-11 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They will open the season on November 2 when they travel to Columbus, OH to face Columbus State Community College.
Ancilla College is ranked 18th in the poll. The Chargers ended last year 24-11 overall and a 12-6 record in the MCCAA Western Conference. They won the NJCAA District 9 Tournament and qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament where they finished eighth. They will open the season on November 2 at Owens Community College.
St. Clair County Community College is ranked 19th in the pre-season poll. The Skippers finished 27-8 overall last season and 11-5 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They won the NJCAA District 10 Tournament and advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament where they went 0-2. They will open the 2019-20 campaign when they face Aquinas College JV in Grand Rapids on November 2.
Cuyahoga Community College is in the other schools receiving votes category in the rankings. The Triceratops finished the 2018-19 season winning the OCCAC with a 14-2 record and were 25-7 overall. They fell to Lakeland Community College in the NJCAA District 11 Championship game. They will open the season November 1 against Kennedy-King (IL) College at the Garland Dildy Tip-Off Tournament.
Edison State Community College is another team in the other schools receiving votes category. The Chargers ended last season with a 25-6 overall record and runner up in the OCCAC with a 12-4 mark. They lost in the semi-finals of the NJCAA District 11 Tournament to Lakeland Community College. They will kick of the season on November 2 when they travel to Dearborn, MI to face Henry Ford Community College.
Lansing Community College is also in the other schools receiving votes category. The Stars were 16-13 overall and 13-5 in the MCCAA Western Conference last season. They fell in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA District 9 Tournament last year to Glen Oaks Community College. They will launch their 2019-20 campaign on November 9 when they host Olivet College JV.
Henry Ford College is the final Region XII school in the other schools receiving votes category. They Hawks were 23-9 overall and 13-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference last year. They lost to St. Clair County Community College in the NJCAA District 10 Championship game. They will start the new season on November 2 when they host Edison State Community College.
