Cuyahoga needs overtime to defeat Edison State in District Semi-Final

The 20th ranked Cuyahoga Community College men's basketball team needed overtime to advance to the NJCAA Great Lakes South District Championship. The Challengers defeated Edison State Community College 76-73 on Friday night for the right to face Lakeland Community College on Saturday.

The Chargers were led by Jaedyn Carter with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Ronald Hampton, III chipped in 20 points and six boards. Sekou Gaiga added 15 points and ten rebounds for Edison State, who end the season with a 17-13 record. 

Cuyahoga was paced by Dorian Crutcher with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Vincent Smalls added 21 points and nine rebounds. Tyrek Battle-Holly added 15 points and seven rebounds. The Challengers (21-8) will face Lakeland Community College at 3 PM Saturday in the NJCAA Great Lakes South District Championship at 3 PM on the campus of Ohio University-Lancaster.
