Lake Michigan College women's basketball ranked 14th in NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Pre-Season Poll
The Lake Michigan College women' s basketball team is ranked 14th in the NJCAA Division II women's basketball pre-season poll. The Red Hawks finished last season with 28-7 overall record and won the MCCAA Western Conference with a 16-2 record. They won the MCCAA title and the NJCAA District G Tournament and advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. The Red Hawks finished 2-2 at the National Tournament. Lake Michigan will open their season on November 8 when they face Bryant & Stratton (WI) College at the Kalamazoo Valley CC Invitational. \
Sinclair Community College is ranked 19th in the poll. The Tartan Pride finished last season with a 28-6 overall and won the OCCAC with a 14-2 mark. They won the NJCAA District I Tournament and advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament where they finished sixth. They will open the season on November 2 when they host Kankakee (IL) Community College.
Edison State Community College is ranked 20th in the pre-season rankings. The Chargers were 25-6 overall and 12-4 in the OCCAC. They lost to Lakeland CC in the NJCAA District I Semi-Finals. They will host Henry Ford College on November 2 to kick off their 2019-20 campaign.
Wayne County Community College District is the first NJCAA Region XII team in the other schools receiving votes category. The Wildcats made their first appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, where they finished seventh. They finished last season with a 20-13 overall record and were 10-6 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. They will open the season at Lorain County Community College on November 1.
Muskegon Community College is also in the others receiving votes category. The Jayhawks finished last season 25-3 overall and 15-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference. They lost in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA District G quarterfinal. They will Saturday, November 2 when they host Aquinas College JV.
Lakeland Community College is the final team in the others schools receiving votes category. The Lakers were 20-10 overall and 12-4 in the OCCAC. They fell in the NJCAA District I Tournament Championship. They will on November 5 when they travel to face Mercyhurst (PA) North East.
