The 14th ranked Lakeland Community College women's basketball team advanced to the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes South District Championship game with a 83-51 win on Friday afternoon. The Lakers lead 25-6 after the first quarter and never looked back.
Lakeland was paced by Rayonna Peterson with 23 points, Makayla Cooper with 18 points and six rebounds. Armani Jackson had 10 points and seven rebounds, while Julie Hajdu has ten points and seven assists.
The Tartan Pride was led by Dominque Camp with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Leah Freeman had 7 points and eight rebounds. Taylor Jagielski added eight points and seven rebounds, while Karryn Millerton chipped in seven points and eight rounds. Sinclair season ends with a 16-15 record.
Lakeland (24-2) advances to face #20 - Edison State Community College on Saturday at 12 PM on the campus of Ohio University-Lancaster with a ticket to the NJCAA Division II National Championship on the line.
