Edison State qualifies for first women's basketball National Tournament since 2007

The 20th ranked Edison State Community College women's basketball team used a 25-20 third quarter to defeat #14 - Lakeland Community College by a score of 80-76 to claim the NJCAA Great Lakes South District Championship. With the win the Chargers (28-3) advance to the NJCAA Division II National Championship for the first time since 2007.

Lakeland was led by Armani Jackson with 28 points and 18 rebounds, while Gianna Pegorano chipped in 25 points and four assists. The Lakers finish the season with a 25-3 record. 

Edison was led by Brogan McIver with 19 points, while Maddy Bakosh chipped in 15 points and six rebounds. Allison Siefring chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Mariah Baker added 10 points of the bench. 

Edison State will compete in the NJCAA Divsion II National Tournament on March 17-21, 2020 in Port Huron, MI.
