MCCAA, Region 12 Mourn Loss of Longtime SID Tod Hess
From the MCCAA:
The Michigan Community College Athletic Association, Region 12 of the National Junior College Athletic Association, and The Mott Community College Athletics Department ruefully must inform you yesterday, February 12th, Tod Hess, longtime sports information director for all three, lost his battle recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident in May 2023.
Tod has been an amazing advocate for junior college athletics as a whole, but has been a cornerstone for the MCCAA for the last 26 years. His efforts helped set the foundation for the MCCAA to become one of the largest athletic conferences in the nation regardless of division. He was ever-present at all MCCAA activities, never missed a golf or bowling tournament, and was a consummate professional. In addition to the aforementioned organizations, Tod also served at several member institutions within the MCCAA, such as Schoolcraft College and Oakland Community College.
The MCCAA is forever grateful for Tod's contributions, passion, and friendship over the last 26 years. He will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.
On Wednesday, February 14th, the MCCAA will be encouraging members to engage in a moment of silence prior to their games to honor Tod's life and the unwavering commitment he had to our organization, its student-athletes and coaches.
