Stars Continue to Shine! Lansing Remains on Top of Region 12 Division II Men’s Cross Country Scene

RESULTS

BYRON CENTER, Mich. – Lansing Community College did it again! The Stars shined bright on Friday (Oct. 27) at Douglas Walker Park in Byron Center, Mich., and earned the 2023 NJCAA Region 12 Division II Championship behind an incredible team score of 21 after having five of the first eight runners cross the finish line.

The Roadrunners of Southwestern Michigan College came in second, doing so in both the men's and women's races.

Lansing's Michael Dennis was the individual medalist and was also tabbed MCCAA Men's Runner of the Year after posting an 8K time of 25:04, while his scoring teammates followed in second, sixth, seventh and eighth place Friday afternoon.

Jim Robinson, longtime head coach of Lansing Community College, was once again tabbed Region 12 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

The top 11 finishers earned their way onto the Division II All-Region 12 Team. The 2023 Division II All-Region Team was comprised of:

  3. Glen Davis – St. Clair County Community College
  4. Kyler Dean – Muskegon Community College
  5. Parker Austin – Mott Community College
  6. Quaid Schimetz – Lansing Community College
  7. Liam Elder – Lansing Community College
  8. Evan Suydam – Lansing Community College
  9. Aaron Bowerman – Lansing Community College
  10. Noah Walters – Schoolcraft College
