Jackson Women, Schoolcraft Men Take Home Region 12 Bowling Championships

The 2024 Region 12 Bowling Championships were held on Friday (Feb. 16) at Royal Scot Bowling Center in Lansing, MI. After tight races on both sides throughout the day, the Jackson College Jets emerged as team champions on the women's side and the Schoolcraft College Ocelots took home the men's team title. Here's a look at all of the event champions and team scores from the Region Championships.

The Jackson College Jets pulled away late with a strong Baker's performance to earn the 2024 Region 12 Women's Bowling Championship. The Jets held off second place Kellogg CC by 255 pins while Mid Michigan College checked in third (566 pins back).

St. Clair County Community College duo Mackenzie Monier and Sophia Santo rolled a 1,122 series to earn the Doubles Championship in the day's opening event, while Isabelle Pachan of Kellogg CC bowled a 549 series to secure the Singles Championship. Santo, already a Doubles Champion, would earn All-Events Champion distinction as well after a 1,488 series.

The Schoolcraft College Ocelots posted a balanced performance to earn the 2024 Region 12 Men's Bowling Championship behind a 8,796 total pinfall, holding off Mid Michigan College by 165 pins. Jackson College (333 pins back) and St. Clair County Community College (395 pins back) rounded out the top four.

The day began with the doubles event where Mid Michigan's Brett Petersen and Cole Swanberg took home the title with a 1,117 series. In singles action, Schoolcraft's Jaden Johnson posted a 694 series to earn the championship. Brett Petersen of Mid Michigan College earned the right to be called All-Events Champion after checking in with a 1,684 series throughout the day.
