Delta Captures Region XII Division III Crown, Heads to Midwest District Championship
They did it again! The Delta College Pioneers have won the 2023 Region XII Division III Women's Soccer Championship! A mainstay in the national scene in recent years and a 2021 NJCAA Division III National Champion, the Pioneers will look to make another trip to the national championship tournament this season. To do so, the Pioneers—the nation's top-ranked team boasting a 19-0 record with 109 goals for and only four goals against—will have to win the Midwest District Championship, a four-team tournament held at Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, MN, on Oct. 28 & 29.
The No. 1 ranked Pioneers will take on the host and eighth-ranked Yellowjackets Saturday (Oct. 28) at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT with the winner moving on to the Midwest District Championship Sunday afternoon against either Anoka-Ramsey Community College or No. 4 Joliet Junior College.
The team that emerges as the Midwest District Champion will punch their ticket to the NJCAA Division III National Championship at Caromont Health Park in Gastonia, NC, Nov. 7-12.
