Muskegon CC punches ticket National Tournament with a 94-82 win over Ancilla College

The eight ranked Muskegon Community College men's basketball team survived a scare from Ancilla College in the middle of the second half to claim a 94-82 win over the Chargers. The win, the Jayhawks 21st straight, earned them a spot in the NJCAA Division II National Champiionship.

The Chagers were led by Cortney Shorter with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Isiah James added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Clark Wells and Josh Alcindor each had ten points, while Rico Swanson, Jr. and Mike Hemingway each dished out seven assists. Ancilla finishes the season with a 21-8 record. 

Muskegon was led by Kylan Shipp with 36 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Jerome Bivins had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Vejas Grazulis posted 15 points and ten rebounds while Christian Simmons had 13 points.

The Jayhawks, who are now 26-4, will next play in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Danville, IL on March 17-21.
