Grand Rapids sweeps Glen Oaks CC to advance to Division II volleyball National Tournament
Grand Rapids Community College swept Glen Oaks Community College on Saturday afternoon to win the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes B volleyball tournament. The Raiders, who are 30-6 overall, advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Charleston, WV next week. They went 3-0 in the tournament beating Muskegon CC on Thursday night and Glen Oaks on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
Grand Rapids was lead by Annie Holesinger with 12 digs and two blocks, while Dani Johnston had 11 kills and 13 digs. Mikayla Vallad added 18 digs, while Jasmine Wellet had ten digs and three kills.
Glen Oaks was lead by Abbie Harpenau with 17 kills and four block assists, while Aubrey Croster had 30 assists and nine digs. Mackenzie Dobosiewicz had 15 digs and 8 kills.
The Raiders will open the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on Thursday, November 21 when they face seventh seed Northeast (IA) Community College at 11:00 in Charleston, WV.
